Wayne Armstrong

Wayne C. Armstrong, 69, of Rogers, Arkansas passed on Sunday, November 2, 2008 from heart disease. He was born September 4, 1939 in Jamestown, Arkansas, the son of Wilbur and Maxine Armstrong. A native of Little Rock, he graduated from Central High School in 1958. Wayne married Wanda, his beloved wife of 48 years, in 1960. He retired after 23 years from AMF Bicycle Company, 11 years at Atlantic Research Corp. and final retirement in 2005 from Arkansas Western Gas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
His passion in life was racing stock cars, riding motorcycles and four wheelers, and camping. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Armstrong; daughter, Helen and Phillip Shinn and grandson, Tyler Shinn, all of Little Rock; mother, Maxine Armstrong and aunt, Jean Johns, both of Batesville, Arkansas; brother, Winfred and Margaret Armstrong and sister, Linda and Jerry Moores, both of Florida; aunt, Betty Armstrong of Little Rock; six nieces, two nephews, five great-nieces, two great-nephews and two great-great-nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7 at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Taylor of Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
