Wash Nixon Reynolds, 87, passed away Monday evening, August 31, 2009. He was born July 19, 1922 in Alexandria, Dekalb County, Tennessee to James and Annie Reynolds and grew up in the Smithville area. He was preceded in death by his son, Nixon, his parents, brother, Hobson, and sister, Marion Becvar. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Clark Reynolds; a daughter, Lisa Caldwell and husband, Dan of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Jay, Andrew and Caitlin Caldwell; two brothers, Edward Reynolds of Hermitage and Tommy (Jett) Reynolds of Flintstone, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Big Brother.
Special thanks to Hospice Homecare, Rose Mack, and his special and wonderful caregiver of four years, Mattie Walton. Mr. Reynolds attended State Teachers College (now Middle Tennessee State University) in Murfreesboro. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Force in India during WWII. He married Georgia Clark of Winchester, Tennessee, worked in sales management for the Ray-O-Vac Corporation for most of his career and lived in Nashville for 47 years. Wash and Georgia were married for 57 years and were active members of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville for many years. An avid golfer and past president of the Music City Golf Association, he was known by family and friends as a kind and generous person who never met a stranger.

Graveside services will be at 10 o'clock the morning of Saturday, September 5th at Woodlawn Memorial Park and visitation will be from 9-10 o'clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204, 615-383-4754.
