Warford Green

Warford A. Green, 94 of Maumelle, formerly of California ; passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Baptist Springhill Medical Center in North Little Rock . He was born September 8, 1915 in Modesto, California; he was the son of Anson Deyoe Green and Lucy Ellen Green.
Warford married Dorese Mandigo on June 01, 1939 in Stockbridge, New York and later that year graduated from the Nyack Bible Institute in Nyack, New York. Warford worked for RG Letourneau in various capacities since high school in the Stockton plant, with positions in Texas, Illinois, and Mississippi and he also served with Letourneau as a Boy's Camp Counselor in Arkansas and Texas.
Immediately after attending Bible School, Warford served in several churches doing pioneer work in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Ft. Worth and Arlington, Texas. In 1948 Warford and Dorese moved to San Bernardino, California. He spent thirty three years there working as a Machinist/Tool Design Engineer at Halsey Machine and Manufacturing Company. In 1960 Dorese passed away. Warford married Lucille Baskett on March 24, 1961. In 1977 they retired to Alturas, California, enjoying their mountain top home while serving in the RIVICS organization and being very actively involved with the First Baptist Church of Alturas as lay members. On March 10, 2004 Lucille went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
In September of 2005, Warford moved to Maumelle, Arkansas where he was a resident of Stonehaven Assisted Living and most recently at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He leaves to cherish his memories to his children David Green, Dwight Green, Duane Green, Faith Bettcher, Jeanette Stone, Virginia Webb and Linda Carrier, he is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. both at Montecito Mortuary in Colton California , interment will follow the service in the Montecito Memorial Park Cemetery , under the direction of Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock .
