Wanda Williams, age 77, of Glenwood, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011. She was born on March 18, 1933, at St. Brain, New Mexico, the daughter of Verna Spinks and Nellye McGuffy Spinks. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two daughters, Nell Coffey and Susan Sargo. She was a registered nurse. Along with her oldest daughter, Nell, Wanda graduated in the first graduating class from the Garland County Community College School of Nursing. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church, loved being a member of her church choir and also singing with the Caddo Quartet. She is survived by her daughter, Lou Tanner of Ashdown; three grandchildren, Jamie Coffey, Jessica Hopkins and Justin Coffey; her great-grandson, Ethan Hopkins; her twin brother, Ronda Spinks of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2011, in the Glenwood United Methodist Church with Bro. Keenan Williams officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Sonny Prince, Richie Frizzell, Wayne Padgett, Jerry Bass, Cary Rogers and Max Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Shapiro, Howard Mooney, Monty Coffman, Jeremy Taylor and Sid Baldwin. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
