Wanda Vestal Blodgett Taylor, 89 passed away on October 27, 2016. She and her twin brother were born March 27, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Bess Thompson and Joseph Walter Vestal. She graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Chi Omega.
She met John Foster Blodgett at a USO dance when she was 16 and he was stationed at Camp Robinson. He told her mother that day that he would marry her, and she finally agreed five years later. They had two daughters and were married 49 joyful years. She was a member of the North Little Rock Junior League, Park Hill Garden Club, Christ Episcopal Church, and her beloved "Bridge Club" that ate, drank and partied together for over 60 years without ever playing bridge.
Wanda was blessed with a close loving family, and she shared this blessing by welcoming many friends and neighbors as adopted family members as well.
She was known for never keeping a secret but also never losing her smile, and she would charm anyone who had the delight of experiencing her mischievous wit. Everyone wanted to sit by her, unless there was something you shouldn't be giggling about.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister-in-law and brother Mickey & J.W. Vestal Jr., her sister Joyce Henderson, and her husband, John Foster Blodgett.
She is survived by her husband of the last 8 years, Robert P. Taylor; her children: Betsy & Richard Davies, Debbie & Rush Deacon; her step-children: Colleen & Rob Taylor, Marie & Joe Backer and their families; her grandchildren: Katie & Andrew Riccobono, Sarah Davies, Mary Elizabeth & Zane Johnson, Martha & Grant Jones, Grace & Patrick Fleeman; and her great-grandchildren: Henry Johnson, Sophia Riccobono, Ruby Johnson, Joanna Crane, Foster Jones, Jacqueline Johnson, Rush Jones, and Lewis Fleeman. She was called Uncle Wanda by her nieces and nephews, Mickey & Joe Searcy, Becky Newell, and Carol & Eddy Vestal.
