Wanda Sue Thompson, 79, of Jacksonville died December 20, 2021. She was born January 16, 1942 in Little Rock to the late Charles W. Perry and Edna Mae Penix Perry Fugatt. Wanda was a former elevator operator at the Donaghey Building, and worked retail most of her life. Her last job was for Walgreens. In her spare time she enjoyed cross stitch and listening to Elvis Presley music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Royce fugatt, step-brothers: Robert and Royce Fugatt, Jr.; son, Mark James Burton, husband, William, “Bill” Thompson, granddaughter, Dawn McCraw and son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Cook.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbra Cook, Carrie (Douglas “Kerk”) McCormick and Robin (Ray) Birkhead, 7 grandchildren: Joey (Kristina) Cook, Lisa Marie McCormick, Amber (Bryan) Scarborough, Jessica (Travis) Ford, Christi (Jon) Raper, Tiffany McCormick, and Nova Birkhead; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
