Wanda Christell Corn, age 92, of Arkadelphia, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Arkadelphia. She was born April 3, 1923 in Fendley, (Clark Co.) Arkansas to Jesse and Onie Deaton Shepherd. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1941.
Christell was a longtime member of Park Hill Baptist Church where she was involved in the church nursery for over forty years. She enjoyed doing volunteer work with the Christmas Store in Arkadelphia for many years. She resided in the Plaza for the last four years, where she made many new friends and was loved by everyone because of her sweet caring spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, L. D. Corn in 2005; her parents; also by three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are three sons, Michael (Frances) Corn, Larry (Denise) Corn and Steve (Phyllis) Corn all of Arkadelphia; one sister, Jean Walter of Lafayette, California; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 5th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Youth Department of Park Hill Baptist Church.
