Wanda Sue Singley Cardwell of Little Rock, aged 81, died Tuesday at her daughter’s home in Little Rock. She was born June 4, 1939, in Little Rock, to Samuel Buckley Singley and Estelle Sanders Singley, the youngest of five children. Her father owned Singley’s Garage on Asher Avenue, and his family owned the Singley Dairy.
She graduated in 1961 from the Arkansas School for the Deaf, and later worked for Goodwill Industries and the Arkansas State Hospital. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Samuel Lee, Thomas Daniel, and Bobby Dean Singley, and her husband, James Robert Cardwell.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Lou Curtis of Alexander; a son, William M. Cardwell, his wife Samantha, and son Logan James Cardwell, all of Sherwood; a daughter, Beverly Sue Riley, son-in-law Mark W. Riley, and granddaughter Quinn E. Riley of Little Rock; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with visitation one hour prior to the service. Covid vaccinated and masked persons may attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the ASD scholarship fund are encouraged.
