Wanda Brown

Wanda Louise Brown, 73, of Jacksonville, left this earth Wednesday, February 6, 2013, to be with her loving husband after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born July 2, 1939 to William R. and Louise Garner in Manila, Arkansas. She graduated from Nettleton High at the age of 16, married the love of her life in 1956, and moved to North Little Rock in 1967. She worked for Shelter Insurance as a claims adjuster and retired after 30 plus years of faithful service. She continued to keep herself busy by working as a volunteer at FishNet Missions of Jacksonville, and was on the auxiliary of AEDD. She was a member of Fellowship North Bible Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Brown (Jessie) and Marsha Hepp (Kenny) both of North Little Rock; sister, Gloria Masterson of Gibson City, IL; sister-in-laws, Carroll Garner of York, SC; and Lois Ann Isom (Bennie) of Brookland, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Shane Miller (Michelle), Jennifer Jenkins (Andy), Billy Hogan (Lacey), Michael Hepp (Jessica), Matt, Dayne and Dannah Hepp, all of North Little Rock; six great-grandchildren, Blaine and Reed Miller, Ally and Addison Jenkins, Kallie and Emma Hogan, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, W.L. "Bill" Brown; brother, William R. "Junior" Garner; and brother-in-law, Floyd Masterson.
She loved to travel but was happiest when all the family was around her. She loved babysitting, spending time with her great-grandchildren and watching them play sports. She never missed a beat. She was a very loving person with a very strong presence and was respected by all that knew her. We will miss her beautiful smiling face with that deep down laugh...she was our rock.
The family would like to thank her doctors and the staff at Springhill Baptist, and especially her sister for taking care of her these last four months. Thank you all for your prayers, she is at peace now.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 505 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
