Walter Starkey
Walter Myron Starkey, 84, of North Little Rock, passed away into the arms of his Lord, February 11, 2009. He was born January 8, 1925 to Roy and Leona Starkey in Friendship, Arkansas. Walter spent his entire career in shoe and leather repair and was a longtime member of Big Rock Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Swisher Starkey and his sister, Marcile Schultz. He is survived by two sons, Frank Starkey (Janice), Richard Starkey; one daughter, Becky Benton (Larry); grandchildren, Eric Benton (Brandee), Lindsey Benton Glenn (Noah), Kelsey Starkey, Merrit Starkey Napier (Josh); and his great-granddaughter, Greer Napier, whom he lovingly called ?his little cookie?.
We want to express our sincere appreciation for the loving care Dad received from the staff of Sherwood Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
