Walter Payne, 92, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. He was born June 14, 1916 in Dumas, Arkansas, the son of George and Della Payne. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his children, Ernest Walter Payne, Jr., (Vickie) and Fannie Sanders, (Thomas) all of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Alavin, Terry and Hasten Payne; sisters, Magnolia, Anniebell, Mattie and Emite Payne; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Monday, February 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Services will be Tuesday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Billy Walker. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
