Walter Luther Morris, IV age nine months of Little Rock, Arkansas was born November 18, 2015 and entered into eternity August 30, 2016.
Just as our Walt the Warrior came into this world with gumption and grace, he effortlessly departed this temporary life with peace and beauty at 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday. Walt was in his Mother's arms with his Father holding his hand and was surrounded by love in his nursery at home as he took his last breath. Walt was diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome and a heart defect. After spending a few weeks in NICU at Arkansas Children's Hospital, Walt lived a somewhat typical baby life at home - reading books, tummy time, snuggles from Mommy and Daddy, etc. Walt had open heart surgery on March 2 and through the roller coaster of good days and bad days, he was never able to fully recover. The team at Arkansas Children's Hospital's CVICU arranged for Walt to be transported home so that he was able to be christened and meet our heavenly father in the serenity of his home.
Walt's Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Helena, Arkansas at St. John's Episcopal Church. Attire is VIBRANT COLORS (no black) and/or your Walt shirt.
