Walter Gordon Kenzel, 85 of Mabelvale passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 15. He was a member of Mabelvale United Methodist Church and retired from Arkla Gas Company with 42 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Effie Kenzel of Hensley, six brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Jean Kenzel; daughter, Cathy (George) Outlaw of Hensley; son, Neil (Christy) Kenzel of Lonoke; three grandchildren, Carrie (Chris) Buxton of Benton; Bryan (Jessica) Kenzel of Ward, and Grace Kenzel of Lonoke; four great-grandchildren, Peyton Buxton and Ryan, Haley & Skyler Kenzel; one sister, Louise Crawford of Hensley; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Anyone who knew Walter would agree that he was the happiest when he was helping someone else. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He always had a smile for everyone and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Mabelvale United Methodist Church at 10500 Woodman St., in Mabelvale, with Rev. Bob Marble officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery on Interstate 30 in Little Rock.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Huson Funeral Home 6400 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, AR 72209
