Walter "Eddie" Jackson

Walter "Eddie" Jackson was called to his heavenly home Friday, May 15, 2020 at the young age of 75. He was born in Pencil Bluff on March 5, 1945, to the late Jimmie Jackson and Hazel Jackson of Mount Ida and joins his brother, Bill Jackson and sister, Helen Noles. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Carol Jackson, of 29 years, married on the beaches of Florida on May 13, 1991, where two years later a spark in the old campfire produced their youngest child. Survivors include sons, Brandon Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Dwayne Wells, Justin Wells and John Wells; daughters, Cindy Brown and Jan Weatherford; thirteen grandkids, including his partner in crime, Haegen Ryder of Mount Ida; five great-grandkids; aunts, Lois Standridge and Varine Carr; sister, Marion Edmonds; brother-in-law, Bill (Eunice) Curtis; several nieces and nephews; and of course, the abundant and loving friends he has. Walter served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a beloved baseball coach as well as a great player. He served on the board of the Southern Junior Rodeo Association for ten years including the first year it started and could always be found in the arena cheering every kid on which brought his heart joy. Walter could always provide love, a laugh, and a bright smile, and he never met a stranger. Whether he was on the beach or the arena in Cheyenne he would soon make friends and spend his time cutting up and having fun. He told his wife on the day they wed that if he couldnt make her laugh or smile everyday then he failed. And if you knew them at all, you know he accomplished his goal. The community, friends and family will greatly miss him. Services will be announced by the family along with a memorial Bull Riding. Rest easy cowboy we love and miss you.
