Walter A. Douglas, 96, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010. Born May 25, 1914 in Sheridan, Arkansas to Warren A. and Vera May Douglas, he retired from Southwestern Bell after 43 years of service and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Claud Douglas, Idis Douglas and a sister, Pauline Ramsey and his wife of 71 years, Hazel Corman Douglas, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Glen A. Douglas of Houston, Texas and Gary W. Douglas and his wife, Mary of Odessa, Texas; two grandchildren, Robert Willicut (Jennifer) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christine Willicut of Lubbock, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ashley and Alexandra Willicut of Cincinnati; two brothers, Dr. Warren M. Douglas of Little Rock and John T. Douglas of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be Monday evening, October 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
