Walter Moke Cook, Sr. 88, of Perryville, Arkansas died February 28, 2012. He was born September 14, 1923 in Kokomo, Mississippi to the late Thomas Cook and Bessie Jane Smith Cook. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in South France and even returned home with a German Flag. Walter loved cooking, hunting, fishing, gardening and was an all-around outdoorsman and handyman.
Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and his daughter, Judy Cook Corbin. Survivors include his children: Jim Cook (Sherry) of Arkansas, Brenda Edens and Patsy Cook of California, Walter Cook, Jr. of Alabama, and Dorothy Lozeau (Mike) of Wyoming; his companion of 20 years, Bernice Samples and "Bonus grandchildren" whom he raised: Crystal and Jeremy; one brother, Pharoah Cook; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nrlfh.com.
