Wallace T. Porter, 89, passed away June 15, 2012. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 30, 1922 to the late Phillip J. Porter and Violet (McKenny) Porter. He was a member of the Old Town congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where he served as an elder and regular pioneer for many years. Because of his fine example, he was also used on various circuit assembly and district convention programs.
His passion was sharing with others truths from the Bible and he regularly engaged in this activity at every available opportunity. Over the years, he assisted many in cultivating a close, personal relationship with Jehovah God. He will always be remembered for his zealous preaching activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Andrew, Howard, Merl and Phillip Porter; a sister, Edith Warner; and his son, Byron Porter. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Louise Porter; a brother, LB Porter of Little Rock; a sister, Charlotte Jackson of Detroit, Michigan; children, Arithia Porter of Kansas City, Missouri and Reginald Porter of Little Rock; grandchildren, Rochelle, Brian, Jamil, Bridgette, Rashima, Tracy, Dion and Lamonte, a spiritual grandson; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jack Creal.
Services will be Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2119 Wolfe Street, Little Rock.
