Wade Wright

Wade Wright, age 71, of Black Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 13, 2023.

Wade was born on August 20, 1951, in Fort Towson, Oklahoma. He is the son of Marvin Jonathan Wright and Glenda Iverna “Chirpy” Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, April Wright, and Barbara Henderson; his sister-in-law, Susan Wright; and his brother-in-law, Bill Boyd.

He was a devoted member of Black Springs Baptist Church. He consistently spread God’s word in many ways including teaching Sunday School every Sunday, leading song service, and being involved in prison ministry. He married the love of his life, Diana Wright on June 3, 1995. Wade was a retired logger and heavy equipment operator. Wade loved  being outdoors, fishing, working in his shop, cooking for his family, sitting on his porch, and most of all spoiling his grandchildren. Wade recently attended the James Black School of Bladesmithing and enjoyed forging and crafting knives. Wade was an amazing husband, father, and papa. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Wright of Black Springs; his three sons and their spouses, Kevin and Cortney Wright of Bonnerdale, Clayton and Jessica Swanger of Mountain View, and Charles and Kimberlee Swanger of Pocola, Oklahoma; his daughter and her spouse, Melissa and Jon Pomraning; his eleven grandchildren, Austin, Zoey, Alayna, Cole, Paisley, Bella, Gunner, Ava, Everly, Treven, and Noah; his two brothers and sister-in-law. Dow Wright, and Dane and Myrna Wright; his sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Phillip Formby; his father-in-law, Loren Michener; his brother-in-law, Jerry Henderson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, January 17, 2023, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Taylor Bruce and Bro. Tim Love officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2023, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Wright, Clayton Swanger, Charles Swanger, Brady Wright, Jon Pomraning, Jonathan Formby, Austin Swanger, and Cole Swanger.

Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Wright.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood.
