Wade Wisely

February 28, 1934 — March 27, 2022

Our dear Brother in Christ, Wade W. Wisely, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at home surrounded by his adopted family.

He was born on February 28, 1934, in Hot Springs, the son of Willie Sherman Wisely and Flora V. Hobby Wisely.  He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cleburne Sherman Wisely, Harvey Ross Wisely, and Albert Hifton; and one sister, Modine (Miller) Wisely.  In 1990, he fell in love with Jo Ann Petty.  He watched over her and took care of her every need and they were always together until her death.

Wade is a retired United States Air Force veteran.  He graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in 1952, then enlisted in the Air Force and was sent to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas.  He then went to tech school at F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, Wyoming, from there he was stationed in these places; Japan until 1955; Barksdale AFB; Osan, South Korea for a year in 1958; returning to Barksdale AFB in 1959; Kwoley AFB, Bermuda, until 1962; Johnson Island, 1964; Texarkana, 1965; Goose AFB, Canada, 1966; Blytheville AFB where he retired on December 1, 1972.  After retiring he settled back in Hot Springs and became a volunteer fireman with the 70 West Fire Department for 20 years.

Wade was adopted and loved by many.  He watched many Saints games with his adopted family.  He always shared the bible with everyone, even with strangers having coffee at McDonald’s, the hospital and the pharmacy.  Wade always told them “it is here in the bible, it’s not me but the truth”.  He was such a blessing to us all and we will forever keep him in our hearts.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his nephew, Bill Wisely of Little Rock; his adopted daughter and son, Tami and Larry Outler of Hot Springs; his other adopted family, Bevla and Eddie Lamb of Hot Springs; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
