W. McAlister

W.B. McAlister, 83, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, was born October 15, 1928, at Searcy, Arkansas, to William T. and Nellie (Beaumont) McAlister, and he died Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He retired from Timex in 1993. He was an avid reader and loved gardening and feeding stray animals and birds.
W. B. is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Dolores McAlister of Jacksonville; three children, Claudia (Kevin) Clemons of Wamego, Kansas, Thomas McAlister of St. Louis, Missouri, and Opal (Brian) Mitchell of Cabot; two grandchildren, Clarissa and Tristan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012, with funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Esther Dewitt Nixon Branch Library, 703 W. Main St., Jacksonville, AR 72076.
