W. Lois Ballinger

Lois Ballinger, age 90, passed away on September 6, 2022. She was born on January 9, 1932 in Eudora, Arkansas to the late Fred and Mary Ritter.

Lois was employed by Dr. Hebert Fisher for 21 years before retiring in 1994. She became a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist in 1969.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Lorn Ballinger; two sons, Randy and Roger Ballinger; parents, Fred and Mary Ritter; and sisters: Jean Etue, Lucille Miller, and Mary Brown.

Lois is survived by her sisters: Nell Yoho of St. Peters, Missouri, Frances Humphries of Springdale, Arkansas, Jo Ann Burns (David) of Montrose, Arkansas, and Brenda Brown (Roy) of Kilbourne, Louisiana; and a host of family and friends who love her and will miss her always.

Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice Staff, Pleasant Hill Senior Living staff, special caregivers: Mary Catlett and Melissa Pearson who loved Mrs. B. and took exceptional care of her both “on and off duty”, and special neighbor, Nancy Hampel who lovingly cared for Mr. and Mrs. Ballinger.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, from 11:00 – 11:30 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM. Interment held at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
