W. Hammonds
W.D. "Dee" Hammonds, 90, of Little Rock died in Conway, Monday May 3, 2010. He was the son of J.D. and Mollie Hammonds. He retired from AT&T after 20 years and was a World War II United States Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Ken D. Hammonds (Sheila) of North Little Rock and Gary L. Hammonds (Emelie) of Mabelvale; five grandchildren, Scott Hammonds, of Plano, Texas, Laura Hammonds, of Arlington, Texas, Tonya Highcock, of Midland, Texas, Patrick Hammonds, of North Little Rock and Derek Hammonds, of Little Rock; five great-grandchildren; brother, James Hammonds, of New Braunfels, Texas; sister, Edna McElroy, of Wynne and special friend and constant companion, Oleda Herron, of Mayflower. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bernice Hammonds; son, Jerry W. Hammonds; and two brothers, Otis Leonard and Edgar Hammonds.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Col. Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
