Vonda J. Kendall

Vonda Jean Kendall, age 70, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. 

She was born December 10, 1952, in Hot Springs.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James “Ace” Speers; one sister, Alma Bates; and a nephew, Rickey Speers.

Vonda was a woman of many talents and passions. She was known for her creativity and had a remarkable talent for sewing. Her skills as a seamstress were unmatched, and she poured her heart into every quilt she made. The love and dedication she put into her craft were evident in each stitch, bringing warmth and comfort to those fortunate enough to receive one of her beautiful creations.

But Vonda's greatest joy came from the time spent with her family. She adored her children and grandchildren and took great pleasure in spoiling them whenever she could. The laughter and love shared during family gatherings brought Vonda immense happiness.

In addition to being a devoted family woman, Vonda had a few favorite pastimes of her own. She had an undying passion for movies, particularly those featuring John Wayne and the iconic Star Trek series. Losing herself in these timeless classics allowed her to escape into different worlds where she found solace and inspiration.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Steven Kendall; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Tami Kendall; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Chris Meeks; four grandchildren, Ashley McCaghren, Cody Kendall, Zachary Meeks and Anna Meeks; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Maggie and Luke; her brother, Steve Speers; two sisters-in-law, Linda Speers and Susan Martin; one brother-in-law, Randy Bates; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

The celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be 10:30 AM, prior to the service.
