Vonda D. Young

Vonda D. Young, age 81, of Hot Springs, passed away, Thursday, November 11, 2021.

She was born on March 18, 1940, in Hot Springs, the daughter of O. C. George and Mamie Hazel Glenn George. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Hazel McDonald; her brother, Glen George; and one grandson, Wes Tankersley.

Vonda was a Christian and of the Assembly of God faith. She worked for many years as a factory worker before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whom we loved dearly and a friend to many. Vonda was always reading the Bible and she had read it over and over many times. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sonja Maxwell of Conway, Tonja and John Hubanks of Hot Springs and Ronda and Troy Hughes of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren, Tusha (David) Glapion, Chasity Polston, Krissy (Fred) Brown, Shea (Kristen) Maxwell, Jordan (Jonny) Indell, Koty Hughes and Stephanie Hughes; seven great-grandchildren, Devin Glapion, Corey Glapion, Austin Maxwell, Braylen Brown, Alexis Maxwell, Karlee Brown, and Julian Indell; four sisters, Skipper Scott, Sadie Herron, Tresa Smoot and Juanita Yandell all of Hot Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Monday, November 15, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment in the Joplin Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until 3:00PM, Sunday, November 14, 2021.
