Vivian Callaway Duke, age 92, of Arkadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Hot Springs. She was born November 18, 1923 in Hollywood, Arkansas the daughter of the late Clara Bell and Grady Eugene Callaway. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Vernon Duke; one granddaughter, Michelle Bell; three sisters, Grady Belle Buck, Kathleen Fulmer and Edna Kelly.
She graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1942. In 1945, she met and married Vernon Duke and they lived in the Hollywood Community for many years before later moving to Arkadelphia.
She was a member of St Andrew United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was a member of the church choir all of her adult life.
She was a member of the Philharmonic Club and also enjoyed being a member of the "Red Hat Society". She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put her family first.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Bell and her husband Carroll of Hollywood; her son Steve Duke and his wife Cindy of Gurdon; three grandchildren, Trey Bell (Amy) of Harrison, Elizabeth Hill (Kurt) of Arkadelphia and Carolanne Pinegar (Zack) of Nashville; and six great-grandchildren, Clifton Bell, Zane, Ben, and Tommy Hill, and Georgia and Behrett Pinegar.
She is also survived by one sister, Jeanie Taylor of Prescott; one sister-in-law, Betty Duke of Arkadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at St. Andrew Methodist Church on Friday, May 13th at 1:00 p.m. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Halfway Cemetery.
