"Mama" was the greatest example of a loving, amazing, kind, amazing, gentle Southern Lady. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt. She loved her Lord and was a witness for Him all her life. She loved to play Bridge, was an avid Razorback fan, and loved discussing politics with fellow conservatives. She was a great storyteller, and exemplified a woman of the Greatest Generation. She served others selflessly and was a friend to many. Her beautiful smile, hugs and her graciousness will be missed by all who knew her.

These are sayings Virginia grew up hearing from her mother, and have tried to apply them in her life.

Life is not always fair.
It is more wonderful to give than to receive.
Try not to lash out at someone when you are angry.
Try to treat others as you want to be treated.
Do not carry a grudge.
Forgive someone who offends or hurts you even before they ask for forgiveness.
Pray before making decisions.
Try to think before you speak.
Looks can be deceiving - all that glitters is not gold.
Be honest with yourself.
Smile - Smile - Smile Someone you meet will smile back.
It's darkest just before the dawn.
Behind every cloud, there's a silver lining.
Pretty is as pretty does.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Monkey see, monkey do.
