Virgil "Gene" White

Virgil “Gene” White, age 86, of Bismarck, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

He was born on August 29, 1935, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, the son of Johnny White and Clara Bernice Austin White. On December 3, 1955, he married Peggy Parks. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Christopher McDaniel; five siblings, Ann Taylor, Parker Taylor, Betty White, Jean White and Cathy White.

Gene was of the Protestant faith and a United States Air Force Veteran, retired with 20 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy White; his children, Sandra White Canton (Andrew) of Bismarck, Russ White (Terry) of Alpharetta, Georgia and Steve White of Brookfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jason McDaniel, Chelsea White and Alex White; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 7, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

Interment in Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery, 12:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2022.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association.
