Violet Vernice Cranford, 95, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Violet was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 8, 1929 to Elijah and Rosie Williams who preceded her in death.
Violet was a loving and devoted wife to Linvel Henry Cranford for 65 years before Linvel passed away.
Violet was an amazing woman, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and mother-in-law. She was a woman who dedicated her life to being a caregiver and homemaker. Violet was a homemaker for 77 years, prior to working at Beaumont Nursing Home for 17 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, eight daughters and two sons: Barbara Howard of Hensley, Thelma Faye Calderon of Danville, Jean Howard of Mabelvale, Carolyn Sue Herr of Jefferson City, Missouri, Betty Askins of Mabelvale, Phyllis Elia of Alexander, Sandra Merkel of Plainview, Marilyn Nordman of Little Rock, Lucky (Jeanette) Cranford of Searcy and Len Cranford of Little Rock. Violet also leaves behind her 28 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild; brother, Odell Williams; sister, Francis Williams; and many extended family members and friends who love Violet and will miss her always.
Services will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 22401 Colonel Glenn Road in Little Rock on Friday, April 5 with visitation held from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Ida Mission Cemetery with Trevor Joyner, Brian Nordman, Jacob Nordman, Colton Joyner, Terry Hall, and Tylo Perez assisting as pallbearers.
