Vincent Woods, 51, of North Little Rock, passed away January 16, 2019. He was born September 24, 1967 to Cecil “Pete” Woods Jr. and Darla (Jenkins) Woods in Meridian, Mississippi.
He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force from 1988 until his retirement in 2008, where he flew the C-130. He was a combat mobility pilot and formal training instructor. He received numerous medals, awards and ribbons including the Meritorious Service Medal (3 times), Air Force Commendation Medal (2 times), Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (9 times), the Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
After retirement from the Airforce, Vincent worked for Lockheed Martin Corporation for 10 years as a CPU Manager.
A natural born leader, Vince cared for the well-being of his fellow man and overall betterment of society. He was well known for his generosity to people and to animals.
Vince is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa Woods; son Micheal Woods; daughter Mallory Woods; his parents Pete and Darla Woods; sister, Erin Graham; nephew Rylan Woods and niece Ryleigh Schmermund. He will also be missed by his in-laws, Mike and Martha McKee and by his sister-in-law and her husband, Lori and Trey Smith.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Cecil Woods, Sr. and Virginia Woods; and his maternal grandparents J.W. and Eunice Jenkins.
Because of his great love of all animals, memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210
