Vilma Delle Norwood Crain age 78 of Arkadelphia died Saturday in Hot Springs. She was born December 4, 1929 in Bussey Arkansas the daughter of Yancey and Idelle Olive Norwood. Mrs. Crain was a former hospice volunteer, disaster relief volunteer and active in many facets of First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia where she was a member. She was a graduate of Taylor High School, attended Magnolia A & M College for two years and graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in home economics. She taught public school for one year. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Dorothy McCoy.
Survivors include her husband Kenneth Crain, one Daughter Kathy Tumlison of Monticello, two sons, Bill Crain of Conway and Jim Crain of Nederland, TX, three sisters, Kathryn Bancroft of Shreveport, Carmen Caudle of Bodcaw, and Carol Eason of Benton, six grandchildren, Paul, Katie, and Carol Anne Tumlison, Leslie, Stephen, and Jonathan Crain, one great granddaughter, Ashton Tumlison.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in First Baptist Church Arkadelphia with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating with burial in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday evening at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
