Victoria DeRamus

Victoria Mona DeRamus, age 58, was born in Prattville, AL on April 2 to the proud parents of Percy DeRamus, Jr. (deceased) and Henrietta Watts DeRamus and was the third born of eight children. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 29, 2015.
Victoria, or Mona as she was affectionately called, loved her family and being around children. After graduating from Shaw High School, East Cleveland, OH, Mona attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Alabama State University, Montgomery, AL with a Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology.
She proudly served her country by enlisting in the United States Air Force and received special accommodations and awards such as Tactical Air Command-Certificate (1984), NCO Preparatory Course-Certificate (1985), Supply Systems Specialist Course-Certificate (1986), Effective Writing Course-Certificate (1987) and Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School-Diploma (1987).
Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge, Mona settled in Little Rock, AR, where she worked for the U.S. Postal Service and received several awards for her outstanding work performance. She will be missed by her coworkers and friends, especially Sharon Armstrong and Denise. They would often refer to her as a "lady." She also volunteered at a local charity and was active in her church.
Mona will be remembered as a quiet soul who loved the Lord and felt very deeply for the care and heart of little children. She loved surrounding herself with the finer things in life. She was also very generous with her time and resources, helping as many people as she could.
Services will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the burial services, the repast will be held at the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR.
Mona leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Henrietta Watts DeRamus (OH); three brothers, Malcolm (Chotima) DeRamus (OH); Marcellino DeRamus (GA), and Duane DeRamus (MD) and four sisters, Rev. Christella Watts (NY); Audra Bowen (OH); Monica DeRamus, Esq. (OH) and Erma (Luther) Davis (OH), as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and special friends, Donna Rochell, Helen Hett, Norma Knutson, Jo Anne Martin, Frances Tice, Irene Harris, Charlotte Nelson and Mark Johnson.
