Victor Menefee

Victor Earl Menefee, 86, of Little Rock, died peacefully on November 1, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Victor was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Victor and Grace Jensen Menefee. He joined the navy in January of 1945. He attended Southern Methodist University, Northwestern University, and MorningSide College, located in Sioux City, Iowa. He loved the navy, where he served 10 years as a naval aviator. His favorite aircraft carriers were the USS Coral and the USS Oriskany. After that he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Rotary International, the Country Club of Little Rock, and served on the Little Rock city board as Vice-Mayor.
He was an avid tennis player, a world class sailor, and other hobbies included golfing, snow skiing, and traveling with his pet Labrador. He loved people, he loved life, and he never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife Jo Neva Knight Light Menefee, granddaughter Dana Sherwood Turnbull, her husband Andrew and their young children Dane and Hadley of Alexandria, Virginia; Stepson Jerry Thomas Light Jr, his wife Denise and children Phoebe Jane and Jay of Colleyville, Texas; niece Debbie Lund and husband Bill of Bancroft, Nebraska; nephew Curtis Bue and wife Vickie of Sioux City, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jacqueline Jean Bue, daughter Dana Victoria Wilson, son Roger Holcomb Menefee and his wife Tina Rowland Menefee.
Services will be held at 3pm Wednesday November 6th, at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, with Reverend Steve Hancock officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be at Little Rock Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5th from 5-7:00 pm.
Memorials can be made to the Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock.
