Vertis Daugherty died October 7, 2006. He was born March 13, 1929 in New Hope, (Drew County) AR. to the late James Olan and Edna (Wright) Daugherty. He graduated from Drew Central High School, Monticello, AR and attended Little Rock Junior College.
He was employed at the Union National Bank for 42 years and was an Assistant Vice President at the time of his retirement on December 31, 1989.
He was a graduate of the Bank of America for Internal Auditing at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a charter member of the Little Rock Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
He served in the Armed Forces (United States Army) for two years during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God since 1948. He had served on the Official Church Board, served as Missionary Secretary, Church Treasurer, Golden Agers? sponsor was a member of the sanctuary choir for many years.
He was married to Audrey Dene Casteel on July 14, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; two sons, Timothy E. Daugherty and wife Cheryl of Ward, AR., Edwin B. Daugherty and wife Rene of Tuckerman, AR.; one daughter, Melissa Clark and husband George B. II, of Little Rock, AR.; four grandchildren, Sean P. Daugherty, Elizabeth V. Daugherty, Michael Clark, Elizabeth Mae Clark; two step-grandchildren, Justin Scott and Cindi Scott. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Vickie Leigh Daugherty, age 14, on 11-09-04; three brothers, Dallas Daugherty, Idell Daugherty and Walter Daugherty

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Trinity Assembly of God. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
