Vernon Hugh Shuffield, 93, of Hot Springs, passed away on June 3, 2014.
He was born on January 16, 1921 in Lambert Arkansas to the late Rosie Bell Emery Shuffield and John Hugh Shuffield.
Mr. Shuffield was a member of Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was a supervisor for Reynolds Metals at Jones Mills for twenty-one years, owned his own excavating company and trained race horses.
He served his country in the army in WWII during the European Theater. He was also a Mason with the Sulpher Springs Masonic Lodge, #100 in Amity.
He is predeceased by his first wife Nettie Williams Shuffield; his second wife Margaret Simmons Shuffield; his daughter Verna Shuffield Johnson; his brothers, James Thurman Shuffield and Dale Shuffield; his sisters Artie Bell Adams, Olene Nations and Thelma Jewell.
Survivors include his son Mitchell and wife Debra Shuffield of Hot Springs; daughter Pennie Kirkpatrick of Benton; six grandchildren; several great and great great grand children.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM one hour prior to the service.
Services will be in the Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery in Bismarck.
