Verna Rabjohn Jameison Arter, age 87, of Glenwood, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was born on December 23, 1923 at Rosboro, the daughter of Luther Rabjohn and Lela Burke Rabjohn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Jameison; her second husband, Gene Arter; her daughter, Betty Ann Tebbetts; four brothers; and two sisters. A registered nurse, she graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Little Rock. She worked for over 25 years as a registered nurse before returning back to school at St. Vincent's to become a nurse anesthetist. The majority of her time in health care was at Arkansas Children's Hospital and at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her two grandchildren, Kathryn Tebbetts and Johnathan Tebbetts; her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Meritt of West Columbia, South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Betty White Arter of Kirby; and numerous other relatives. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2011, in the Bethel Cemetery with Sid Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
