Verna Moreland

Verna Lee Moreland was born October 25, 1925 to Hunter and Bertha Christian and died peacefully at home on June 8, 2014. Billie, as she was known to friends and family, was a charter member of The Church at Pinnacle Mountain and a member of the Natural Steps Baptist Church for many years. She was a grandmother and sister but most importantly, a proud and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed time with her family and hosted many wonderful family dinners at the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bart Moreland, Jr.; one son; Gaylon Moreland; one son-in-law, Gary Bell; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Bart Moreland III (Debbie); son, Terry Moreland; daughter, Kathy Bell (Gary-deceased) all of Roland; son, Dana Moreland (Tonya) of Story; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Georgia Hickey of Little Rock.
According to Billie's wishes she will be cremated and her ashes placed with her loved ones. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Natural Steps Baptist Church, 12011 Hwy 300, Roland, Arkansas, with Brother Andy Acker officiating. The family will have a private ceremony at the Natural Steps Cemetery afterwards.
