Verena Moore

Verena Ellen Moore of Arkadelphia went to be with the Lord today, February 2, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. Verena was born in Friendship Arkansas in 1922 to Jerry and Lula Merle Pendergrast, the fourth of five children. She moved to Arkadelphia in the early forties were she met and married George Moses Moore, a restaurant owner, and they were blessed with two daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964 and a daughter Carlton Marie Moore in 1988. She leaves behind a beloved daughter, Jeanette Moore Ransom; a sister Violet Littleton of Coco, Florida; granddaughters, Joy Powell, Megan Whitehead and Sarah Vasquez. Five great grandchildren, Scott Shoptaw, William and Nicole Powell, Christian and Nikolas Whitehead, and two great great grandchildren. Verena lived an independent life up until a few short weeks before succumbing to terminal cancer. A private memorial service will be held in her home in North Little Rock for close friends and family.
