Vera Maxine Pruitt, 85, of Beebe, Arkansas, died October 22, 2009. She was born November 22, 1923, in Centerville, Arkansas, to Zera and Harley Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Milton L. Pruitt.
Maxine was a giving lady who enjoyed life. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing basketball and helping to manage the dairy farm. During WWII, she worked in the Hercules ammunition plant in Jacksonville and later served as a greeter at Kmart for fifteen years.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Bill and wife Linda of Searcy, Bob and wife Kim of Beebe; grandchildren, Jason and Bryce Pruitt of Beebe, Brook Pruitt of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Amy Pruitt Baden (Wes) of Little Rock, Tish Hamilton and Robby Boland of Searcy, great-grandchildren Tori McDuffie of Little Rock, McKenna Hamilton of Searcy, Morgan and Jake Baden of Stuttgart. She is also survived by one brother, John H. Jones of Mayflower, one sister Nell Keathley of Conway and one sister-in-law Mildred Secrest of Pasadena, Texas in addition to many special nephews and nieces.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009, at Antioch Community Church, with burial in Antioch Cemetery.
