Veneta "Jane" Cowart

Veneta “Jane” Cowart, age 85, formerly of Glenwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2023, in Hot Springs.

She was born in Oden on November 28, 1937, to Audy and Dolena Wilhite. In 1955, she married Kenneth Edward Cowart of Kirby, and they had two children, Terry Lynn Cowart, and Cynthia Jane Cowart, all of whom preceded her in death. After living in the Little Rock area for several years, they returned to Glenwood to raise their family.

While in Glenwood, Jane worked at local businesses including John Plyler Home Center and EZ-Mart, as well as serving as dietician at Glenwood Public Schools and working for the City of Glenwood. She also worked at, and was part owner of, The Flower Shop with Ruth and Everett Smith for a number of years. Several years after Kenneth’s passing, she moved to Bartlett, Tennessee, to be near her son Terry and his wife, Mary Jean, and her grandchildren. After Terry’s passing, she moved back to Hot Springs. Jane will be remembered for the immense love she had for the Lord and her family.
