Velma Marie Seale

 

Velma Marie Conant Seale, age 87, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away on October 5, 2022 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia.  She was born on December 24, 1934 to Ernest Nelson Conant and Annie Lee Smith Conant. Velma attended  Ouachita Baptist University where she met and married the love of her life James Wiley Seale.

 

Velma worked at Hollywood Maxwell Company until she became a homemaker. 

 

Velma found joy in serving and helping others. She knew no strangers and witnessed to all that she met through Christ and her actions.  She was active in mission work and in volunteering at the Clark County Historical Society.  She was known for her expertise in researching family genealogy and assisting others to do the same. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and reading. 

 

Velma was predeceased by her spouse James Wiley Seale, her parents, her brother, Ross Conant, and twin sister Thelma Conant Trout. 


Survivors are her two sons, Philip Nelson Seale and wife, Tara of Muncie, Indiana, Stephen Ray Seale and wife, DeLisa of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Sharon Marie Strahan of Muncie, Indiana; one brother, Lloyd Nelson Conant and his wife, Freida of Arkadelphia, one brother in law Ollie Trout and one sister in law Nana Mae Seale; 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m Saturday, October 8th  at the Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Greg Lathem and Bro. Ray Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022. Arrangements are entrusted to Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay St., Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
