Velma Mae Johnson, 80, of Alexander went to the Lord on Wednesday March 28, 2018 peacefully while at home surrounded by her Family and friends. Velma was born September 21, 1937 to the late Roy and Eva (Dillard) Vandiver in Prim, Arkansas.
Velma was a proud member of Otter Creek United Pentecostal Church for over fifty-six years and loved to share her faith with all that would listen.
Velma was preceded in death by one infant son: Michael Faulkner, grandson: John Rushing III, great-granddaughter: Kadynce Faulkner and one brother: Chester Vandiver. She is survived by one son: Terry Faulkner of Little Rock and daughter: Rhonda Rushing of Alexander; three grandchildren: Terry "TJ" Faulkner, Amanda "Mandi" Faulkner and Judy Faulkner; five great-grandchildren: Juliaunna Faulkner, Zechariah Faulkner, Tucker Faulkner, Kynslee Davis and Mason Slate; two sisters: Jean Ross and Cissie Flanagan; many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her greatly.
Visitation-reception will be held Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service directly following at 11:00 AM with Bro. Percy Billingsley officiating.
