Velma Lucile Fowler, 84, of Little Rock, passed away February 25, 2012. Born in Bristol, Tennessee to William and Blanche Dancey Alderson, she was a member of Little Rock's First Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, R. W. "Bill" Fowler, sister, Margaret Holyfield and brothers, Billy and Bobby Alderson, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine Bettis (Ronnie) and son, George Fowler, all of Little Rock; granddaughters, Melissa Geering (Josh) of Richardson, Texas, Amy Baker (Donnie) of Fayetteville, Heather Fowler of Bryant and Lindsey Bettis of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Luke Geering, Elizabeth Katherine Geering, Gabriel Baker, Isaac Geering, and Mary Katherine Baker who is expected to arrive in June.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Rev. Jerry Johnson. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.).
