Velma Robinson Bostic, 83, of Lodi, California, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2010. She was born in Beebe, Arkansas on July 15, 1927, to Hobert McKinley and Pearlie Jewel (Benton) Robinson. Velma grew up in Arkansas where she met and married Edmon Lowell Bostic. Together they moved to San Francisco where she earned her Associate's degree and had a 23 year career in banking. After her retirement, she moved to Lodi to be closer to her family. Velma was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lodi, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Bostic is survived by her daughter, Elaine Fisse of Lodi; grandchildren, Tiffany Gomes Lynch of Lodi and Bret Fisse of San Francisco; great grandchildren, Jared Gomes and Alyse and Leah Fisse all of Lodi; and brothers, Dewey (Camilla), Roland, James, and Bob (Rose) Robinson, all of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmon Lowell Bostic; and brothers, Horace and Doug Robinson.
There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held October 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at noon at Missionary Baptist Church in Garner. Lodi Funeral Home in Lodi, California and Westbrook Funeral Home are assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local hospice.
