Mrs. Velda Rose McDonald McKay, 70, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born June 20, 1940, at Delaplaine, Arkansas, to Joe and Katherin (Watson) Hawk, and she went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 21, 2010. She was retired from AT&T and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Monroe McDonald, her stepdaughter, Mary Ann McDonald, and a brother, Max Hawk. She is survived by her husband, Harvey McKay; two sons, Bobby McDonald of Bristol, Tennessee and Frankie McDonald of Corning; two stepsons, Randy and Rick McKay of Romance; two daughters, Karen Wisniewski of Oklahoma and Shana Rodgers of Joy; eight grandchildren, several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one half brother, Don Haynes of Baltimore, Maryland; and five half sisters, Linda Wright and Brenda Davis, both of Marmaduke, Laura Mae Ruitz of Missouri, Rosemary of Kennett, Missouri and Maudie Shipman of Piggott.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Weir Cemetery.
