Valretta Kay Higgins

Valretta Kay Higgins, 66, of Taylor, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, with her four kids by her side. She was born February 14, 1956, to the late Benjamin Johnson and Bonnie (McCoy) Johnson in Lincoln, IL. She is also preceded in death by brother and sisters: Linda Maxey, Nettie Maxey, Maudie Stevens, and Daniel Maxey.

Valretta loved her family, but she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crocheting.

Valretta is survived by her husband, William Higgins; children: Sabrina Musick of Beebe, Cassandra Sanchez (Carlos) of Little Rock, Andrew Hinds (Andi) of Beebe, William Hinds (Shania) of Searcy, Paul Higgins (Leslie) of Taylor, and Douglas Higgins of Taylor; grandchildren: Aydyn Weeks, Sam Rogers, Isabella Rogers, Madi Musick, John Thomas Musick, Max Hernandez, Alex Hernandez, Cristofer Sanchez, Easton Hinds, Edi Hinds, Jordan Hinds, Tenlee Hinds, Rusti Bethard, Cody Higgins, Michael Higgins, Cameron Higgins, Jacob Higgins, and Blair Matlock; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Johnson, Ivan Maxey; sisters, Jimma Hampton, Reta Satterly, and Phyllis Dobbs; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2023, at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W DeWitt Henry Dr., Beebe, AR 72012. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery.   Arangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
