Vaine George

Vaine E. ?Van? George, 80 of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, August 06, 2006 from complications of Alzheimer?s. He was a retired truck driver for Strickland Transportation and Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of the Teamster?s Union, and received many awards for save driving.
Van is survived by his wife, Verda (McElroy) George of Sheridan; one daughter, Karen Stone (Ira) of Sherwood; two stepdaughters, Audrey Smith and Jackie McGuire, and one stepson, Alan McElroy, all of Sheridan; two sisters, Alice Reynolds of Little Rock, and Grace Bagwell of Lonoke; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Tesch, one brother-in-law, Robert Reynolds, and a stepson, Jerry Scates.
Van was a proud and gentle man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be greatly missed.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Corinth Cemetery in Sheridan, Arkansas.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
