Twyla Cook, age 83, of Kirby, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.
She was born on October 10, 1939, in Kirby, the daughter of Flint Edward Woodall and Lula Mae Pasley Woodall. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Cook; her parents; her infant brother, Loyd Woodall; her sister, Jean Reese; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Reese and Bobby Sweeden; and her very special cherished friends, Cherryl Grant, Bernice Tolleson, and Annabelle Funderburk.
On July 5, 1959, Twyla married the true love of her life, Ray Cook. She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby and for several years was a member of the Red Hat Society. Twyla was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed reading, sewing, was a wonderful cook, and will always be remembered for her fabulous chocolate birthday cake, that would often create tiffs between her grandchildren, as to who got the first piece, but more importantly, who got the last piece.
Above all, Twyla was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Twyla is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ray Cook of Kirby; her daughter, Vicki Cook of Kirby; her three grandchildren, Christopher Cook and his wife, Dee, Christina Main and her husband, Zack and Cali Busby and her fiancé, Michael Cates; her five great-grandchildren, Christian, London, Easton, Stetson and Ella; her fur baby, Lucy; her very special friend, Jean Duren of Kirby: and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
