Troy Atkins

Troy B. Atkins age 89, of Arkadelphia, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 in Arkadelphia. He spent his working career in the oil fields in West Texas and moved back to Arkansas after retirement. Mr. Atkins was a U.S Army WW II veteran serving in Alaska and Europe and a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church near Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavelle Hayes Atkins in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Huneycutt Leath Atkins, one daughter, Deborah Wallis of Midland, Texas; two step-daughters, Madonna Chunn of Orlando, Florida; Phyllis Ballard of Friendship, Arkansas; one sister, Annie Francis of Oregon; one grandson, Jon Zorn; one great-grandson Travis Zorn both of Midland, Texas; five step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Arkadelphia with Rev. Bob Black officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Online guest register is available at www.ruggleswilcox.com .
