Travis Lee Sims, 79, of Conway was born April 29, 1936 in Springhill, Arkansas to John and Ola Lee Sims and passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Irene Sims and his children Terry Sims (Lori) and Dixie West (Travis) both of Saltillo, Arkansas. Other survivors include his sisters Margaret Fulmer (Ray) of Holland, Arkansas, Helen Loyd (Marvin)of Cave Springs, Arkansas, Mary Ruth Montgomery(Roy) of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Johnnie Johnston (Jim) of Nixa, Missouri as well as his grandchildren Rusty Carter, Dusty West, Brandon Sims and Elyse Sims and great grandchildren Jaxson Sims, Khylar Sims and Brandt Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He was well loved in the community and served as the Justice of the Peace in Conway for 15 years. He owned and operated Travis Sims Appliance Service in Conway and was a long time member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Saltillo, Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Conway Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive in Conway with funeral services on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Saltillo, Arkansas burial will follow in Oak Bowery Cemetery, Bro.
