Trance Riley

Trance Wayne Riley, 75, of Sherwood, passed away July 20, 2018 with his family at his side. Born in Halls, Tennessee to James and Irene Jones Riley, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Faith Bible Fellowship. He retired as a manager at Wright's Cabinets, Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba Jean Broyles Riley; children, Kellie VanderVate (Ryle), Zachery Riley (Liesel) and Kara Riley; brother, Keith Riley; sisters, Evelyn Butner, Shella Palmer and Bernice Bushhart; and eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Emily, Abigail, Lydia VanderVate; Elizabeth, Matthew, Isaac and Caleb Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rivers Riley and Mike Riley.

He was a simple, peaceful, hardworking man of pure faith in Jesus Christ. He lived by the verse "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." His strong virtues led him to always treat everyone fairly, respectfully and honestly. His quick-wit and humor brought a smile to everyone and his great love for his family was his crowning trait. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
